Kelka Pride - Thank YOU!

So, a few days have passed since everyone has left ABQ. We're getting back into the mode of just being regular people again, without a crowd of cute gay girls following us around town and cheering every time we kiss or say something funny.

I just wanted to tell you how much this weekend meant to me. I say "me" and not "us" because I think that Elka will probably post something, too.

It's difficult to put into words how much this gathering has meant to me. I tried to tell you at the party, but I just burst into tears.

When we sat down to do our first podcast, we wondered if we should be "characters" or just be ourselves. We decided to just be ourselves. We started talking about a television show. As time went by, we incorporated more and more of our own lives into the podcast. We were receiving loads of emails. Many of the emails were just telling us this week's booby count. But, some of them were heartfelt letters about struggles, relationships, coming out, etc. We knew that we couldn't handle it on our own. So, we started the Planet Forum. People joined by the thousands. People connected. A community of online friends quickly formed. People who thought they would never meet others like themselves were suddenly surrounded by love, support, and a common sense of humor.

At the party, when everyone was yelling "Speech! Speech! Speech!", I tried to express that this whole thing really is about all of you. I've never seen a more joyous crowd of people in my life. You immediately came together as friends and spent four days celebrating your friendships. I am so proud of all of you, as a group and individually. I know some of your stories and I know how much you've grown. Every one of you is so funny and strong and lovable. I know that you're going to do great things and lead happy, healthy lives. And, if we had anything at all to do with that, we're the lucky ones. That's what I was trying to say during the "speech" at the party. Don't you see? It really is all about you!

We laughed, we marched, we screamed, we danced, we drank, we celebrated, and we made a lot of friends who will last forever. The photos are dripping with happiness.

From my perspective, the entire four days were completely overwhelming. It turned out so much better than I'd ever imagined. I mean, I've been to some great parties... but, THAT party... come on!... that party was incredible!

When it was all done and over with, Elka and I went back to our house and cried for a long time. The tears were filled with love and pride. We were overwhelmed with emotion. You have given us the most wonderful feeling inside. Thank you all for loving us... just the way we are. We love you, too!

Hello, lovely listeners. I am extremely unhappy to tell you that KC was whisked away on a last-minute trip and is now stranded by a blizzard at some craphole airport in the midwest instead of home with her sweet-lovin' girlfriend and recording a podcast for you.

I know that many of you took the time to send us a Valentine's Day message for your sweetie and we will do our very best to get the Valentine's Day podcast published in time, but things are not looking very promising right now. I thought about rounding up some of our other friends to fill in for her, but I just can't bring myself to do it. . . without KC, The Planet is just a cold asteroid. Or something.

I'm very sorry for the delay, especially to those of you who are hoping to hear your V-Day messages. With any luck KC will be back home soon and won't have to spend her Valentine's Day stranded in an airport 2,000 miles away from her honey.

First off, there will be a new Chart within the next few days, so step back off that ledge!

Now that I've gotten that out of the way . . . I just thought I'd give you gals and guy a small update on what we're up to in this off-season. When we started doing this podcast, I hoped that it could become a way for L Word fans like me to create a network where we could gossip about the L and anything else we feel like dishing about. I feel like that's starting to happen here, but Blogger is just not the greatest format.

I'd like to have a simple, user-friendly forum where everyone could post instead of just commenting on my posts, and where you can respond to a specific comment instead of having to add yours to the end of a single string. It would also be cool if we could post pictures there (you should just SEE what Ellie sent me today!), and have a 'friends list' sort of thing so we could read each other's blogs with a minimum of click-throughs.

If you're a livejournal user, some of this may be starting to sound familiar . . . I like the way livejournal works, but it's not very customizable and has some really negative connotations (like that it's full of hysterical fourteen-year-old girls, which it is). We're looking at different styles of web forum to try to figure out what will work for us. And oh yeah, whatever we end up making has to be incredibly easy to moderate (because we do, in fact, have lives).

KC and I are going to have a little pow-wow today over pie to work on creating a web presence that focuses more on the Kelkians (and maybe the Mashliens, too) and less on Kelka. We'll talk to you soon!

Hi. I don't really have anything to tell you; I just feel like starting a new drama-free post. We're not mad at anyone, and nobody is mad at us. Well, except for maybe Fred Phelps.
I can't bring myself to do the episode 12 podcast, because that will mean that season 3 is really over! Will our podcast ever recapture the innocent blush of youth? But don't fret; we have at least three podcasts worth of material for The Chart. Our listeners are nothing if not prolific! I wouldn't hate hearing more from the karaoke girls, either.

By the way, I totally knew that Henry Gale was an Other!
